Black Bean Sauce is a sauce made from Black Beans.It is a sweet bean sauce often used as a filling in cakes such as mooncakes or doushabao in many Chinese and Taiwanese cuisines.
Fermented black beans can be added to the food at several points. The beans may be sprinkled over food before steaming, for example. A popular technique is to mash the beans and combine them with garlic and/or ginger.
